Colonial, farmhouse and newer estate houses in Morristown, Mendham and Harding often have rooms that can carry a strong pattern. Our prefinished European oak chevron arrives ready to use, so the floor can go down without days of sanding and coating on site.

Here is how the range compares and how to choose.

Blaise: Wire-Brushed Rustic Chevron

Blaise Chevron is European oak in a rustic grade, which its page describes as a natural and highly varied appearance. It has a wire-brushed texture for added depth and a Matte UV Oil finish.

Each piece is 5/8" thick, 4-3/4" wide and 28-1/8" long, milled specifically for chevron. In a farmhouse kitchen or a family room with beams and stone, the rustic grade and brushed surface keep the pattern relaxed. Our herringbone and chevron guide explains how the two patterns differ.

Stefani and Pomelo: Two More Rustic Choices

Stefani Chevron shares the rustic grade, wire-brushed texture and Matte UV Oil finish, in the same 5/8" by 4-3/4" format. Its page lists a length of approximately 28.2", with specifications at 28-1/8".

Pomelo Chevron is also rustic grade, pre-finished with a UV Oil finish for a natural look, at 4-3/4" by 28-1/8". Seeing these side by side is the clearest way to choose, since the difference is mainly in tone and surface. View them in morning and evening light before deciding.

Mikaela: Character Grade Chevron

Mikaela Chevron is an ABCD character grade, which its page describes as a natural and varied appearance. It is 5/8" thick in a fixed chevron format, with standard pieces of 4-3/4" by 28-1/8".

Character grade sits between a clean prime grade and a rustic one, so it suits a living room or dining room that is traditional in plan but furnished in a more relaxed way. It also pairs well with painted millwork. Our pattern guide can help you decide which rooms get the chevron.

Prime Grade Chevron, Milled to Order

For a cleaner look, Luce is European oak in a Prime / AB grade, pre-finished in a Matte UV Urethane Aluminum Oxide finish. Its standard format is a 4" by 23-5/8" herringbone, and its page notes it is also available in custom milled chevron.

Prime grade has fewer knots and a more even surface, which suits a formal entry hall or a library with fine paneling. Because it is milled to order, we confirm the piece size and layout with your installer before ordering.

Prefinished or Unfinished Chevron

Prefinished chevron is coated at the mill, so rooms can be used soon after installation. That suits a family living in the house during the work, or a project on a tight schedule. Our prefinished collection covers more options in this format.

If you need to match an existing floor's color exactly, unfinished chevron in white oak, red oak, maple or walnut can be finished on site instead. Our unfinished chevron post explains that route and the extra time it takes.
