Joe Avila’s path into the wood flooring industry was far from ordinary. Coming from a background in finance and time spent captaining boats, he entered the trade with a focus on precision, documentation, and process—ensuring that every flooring system is not only beautiful but engineered for structural longevity.
Early in his career, Joe attended the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) Intermediate School, where he was introduced to advanced European flooring techniques by master craftsmen whose work included landmark properties such as the White House and luxury estates across the country.

What began as an education quickly evolved into a passion for innovation and artistry. Joe recognized that the U.S. flooring industry lagged behind Europe in materials, finishing techniques, and design execution—and he set out to change that.
Determined to bring the finest European methods to the American luxury market, he forged lasting partnerships with elite European flooring manufacturers and master artisans. By integrating their expertise into projects across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, South Florida, Miami Beach, Palm Beach, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Los Angeles, Aspen, Vail, and other distinguished destinations, he helped redefine the standard for custom wood flooring.
