Colonials and center-hall houses in Chappaqua, Armonk and Mount Kisco often suit a classic 5" board better than a very wide plank. Our High Plains floors are prefinished in a UV matte oil, in white oak, red oak and maple.

Here is how the range divides by species and tone.

White Oak: Torrington and Lingle

Torrington is described as one of the most beloved prefinished oiled white oak floors in the range, a character grade floor with a light finish. Its page notes it is installed in settings from high traffic beachfront properties to condo developments.

Lingle is an oak with rich dark tones, smooth grain patterns and a UV oiled matte finish. Light Torrington suits a kitchen and family room, while Lingle suits a study or dining room. Our white oak versus red oak guide compares the two species.

Light Maple: Bingham and Scott's Bluff

Bingham is maple with natural, creamy hues, a UV cured oil finish and smooth grain patterns. Maple has a tight, even grain, so Bingham gives a calm, pale floor that suits a bright bedroom or a home office.

Scott's Bluff is a UV oiled maple with rich brown hues, striking grain patterns and a smooth design, which its page describes as warm and cozy. It suits a den or a family room. Our maple post covers wider maple formats too.

Darker Maple: Morrill and Cheyenne

Morrill is a prefinished maple with a UV cured oil finish, dark hues and a smooth surface, described as creating an elegant and relaxed atmosphere. A darker maple is less common, and it gives a refined, even floor for a formal living room.

Cheyenne is a UV oiled maple with rich brown hues, striking grain patterns and a prefinished rustic look. Where Morrill is smooth and calm, Cheyenne has more movement, which suits a family room or a lower-level media room that sees more daily use.

Red Oak: Rosebud and Angora

Rosebud is a prefinished red oak with brown hues, a rustic appearance and swirling grain patterns, finished in oil for a natural look. Red oak is a good choice when an older house already has red oak in some rooms.

Angora is a red oak with natural color variation and a rustic look, described as creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Both suit a renovation where new rooms need to sit comfortably beside original floors. Our solid hardwood post covers matching older floors.

Cocoa and Dark Brown: Alliance and Lakota

Alliance is a red oak prefinished in UV oil, with a cocoa color palette and a distinct smooth grain pattern. Lakota is a red oak with a UV cured oil finish, dark brown hues and a brushed smooth surface.

Every High Plains floor is 5" wide, in random lengths from 1-1/2' to 8', and is offered as 3/4" solid or as 5/8" or 3/4" engineered with a 4mm wear layer. That lets one tone run from a wood-framed main floor down to a finished basement on a slab. A virtual consultation helps narrow the choice.
