Shingle-style houses, colonials and converted cottages in Darien, Rowayton and Noroton often look best with a floor that already has some age to it. Our reclaimed wide plank floors bring that character in a stable, engineered format suited to modern renovations.
Here is how the range breaks down by look.
Bold Reclaimed Oak: Java and Big Leaf
Java is American reclaimed oak with a bold, character-rich look, a wire brushed texture and a Custom Color Matte finish. It is 3/4" thick in random widths of 3"-6", 4"-8" or 6"-10", with lengths from 2' up to 12' and a 4mm nominal wear layer.
Big Leaf is also described as bold and character-rich, with a custom color matte finish and wire brushed texture in the same widths. Either suits a great room or a kitchen with a large island, where strong grain holds its own against the scale of the room.
Softer Reclaimed Oak: Sugar and Honey
Sugar is described as offering a refined and balanced natural appearance, with a custom color matte finish and a wire brushed texture that enhances subtle grain detail. It suits a living room where you want reclaimed wood without heavy contrast.
Honey offers a warm and inviting appearance with rich natural character, in a custom color matte finish. Warmer tones suit a north-facing room or a house with lots of white paint and blue fabric, where they keep the interior from feeling cold through the winter months.
Classic Looks: English and Bay
English is reclaimed oak from America with a classic, character-rich appearance. It is 3/4" thick in random widths of 3"-6", 4"-8" or 6"-10", with random lengths from 2' and longer, and suits a traditional center hall or a paneled study.
Bay is antique reclaimed resawn oak with a smooth texture and a Custom Color Matte finish, in lengths up to 12' and with a 4mm nominal wear layer. Resawn boards show the inner wood of old timbers, for a cleaner reclaimed look in a formal room.

Reclaimed Pine and Poplar: Prairie and Camo
Prairie is antique reclaimed pine with a calm, natural aesthetic, which its page describes as inspired by open landscapes, with soft grain movement and subtle tonal variation. It has a smooth texture and a Custom Color Matte finish.
Camo is antique reclaimed American poplar, finished in UV Cured Natural Oil with a smooth texture, for a bold and distinctive appearance. Pine and poplar are softer than oak, so they suit bedrooms, a guest cottage or a quiet sitting room better than a busy kitchen.
Engineered Reclaimed for Coastal Houses
Most of these floors are offered as 3/4" engineered planks, with reclaimed wood on the face. An engineered build helps wide boards stay stable through humid summers and dry, heated winters, which matters in a house near the water. Our wide plank collection lists the full range of formats.
Several floors use a Custom Color Matte finish, so the color can be discussed and sampled before ordering. We usually send two or three samples and review them in your own light. Our reclaimed heart pine post covers another reclaimed option for shoreline houses.
